Myristyl myristate is an ester compound formed by the esterification reaction of myristyl alcohol and myristic acid. This high-purity cosmetic raw material is white to off-white waxy flakes with a melting point of 45–53°C. As a mild and oil-free skin care emollient, it is very suitable for creating a smooth and refreshing skin feel in creams, lotions and makeup formulas.
It is easily dispersed in oil-based systems such as vegetable oils and mineral oils, and can also be dissolved in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether.
