Nonionic Sorbitan Stearate Emulsifier for Cosmetic Use CAS  NO 9005-64-5 Sorbitan Stealate is a non-ionic surfactant produced by esterification of sorbitol and stearic acid. It exists in the form of solid particles ranging from white to light yellow, with a faint odor. As a lipophilic emulsifier, it has a low HLB value and belongs to the category of auxiliary emulsifiers in oil in water (O/W) systems. Good chemical stability, acid value ≤ 10, hydroxyl value between 235-260, saponification value between 147-157. Because it is insoluble in water, but well matched with non-ionic and lipophilic ingredients, it is a "natural choice" in lotion formulations that need to maintain structural and texture integrity.   Usage suggestions In cosmetic formulas, the recommended dosage is 1% -5%. It is usually added during the oil phase and heated to 70-75 ℃ to ensure sufficient dispersion. Due to its poor solubility in water, an effective water in oil system requires emulsification with suitable hydr…
