CYCLOPENTASILOXANE and DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER CAS NO 63148 62 9 Cyclopentasiloxane and Dimethicone Crosspolymer is a high molecular weight silicone blend consisting of a volatile carrier (cyclopentasiloxane) and a non-volatile cross-linked silicone elastomer. It is a clear to translucent gel with excellent spreadability and a silky, powdery feel. Its viscosity ranges from 300,000–400,000 mm²/s at 25°C and its elastomer content is approximately 13.5%. It provides a fresh, non-greasy, smooth skin feel and significantly reduces the stickiness of formulas. This cross-linked polymer matrix forms a breathable protective film on the skin surface, enhancing moisturizing power while providing water resistance and oil control. The gel texture provides a matte and soft-focus effect, making it ideal for primers, BB creams, sunscreens and oil-control skin care products.
