Titanium Anodes for Electrolytic Hydrogen Production

Titanium anodes for electrolytic hydrogen production use high-purity titanium as the base material, with the surface coated with mixed metal oxide (MMO) coatings such as Pt. Featuring excellent electrocatalytic activity and corrosion resistance, they can work stably in alkaline or neutral electrolytes, serving as core components of water electrolysis hydrogen production systems. The manufacturing process includes sandblasting and pickling pretreatment of titanium substrates (to enhance adhesion), repeated coating-high temperature calcination (to form dense uniform MMO coatings), and optimized coating composition based on working conditions. With low overpotential (reducing energy consumption, increasing hydrogen output), high current efficiency, excellent corrosion resistance (suitable for alkaline environments) and 2–5 years of lifespan, they apply to water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment, alkaline/neutral electrolyzers and fuel cell hydrogen supply systems.
