The "flexible little expert" for low-power conversion
Although small in size, the EE13 high-frequency transformer can also do some "inverting" work! In some low-power scenarios with low requirements, such as converting the low-voltage direct current (DC) of solar panels into alternating current (AC) for small lamps, it can play the role of an inverter transformer. However, its brightest stage is still in various switch mode power supply transformer, where the most crucial voltage conversion and energy transfer are carried out. High frequency is its magic weapon - this enables it to shed the bulky appearance of traditional transformers, operate efficiently with a mini size (magnetic core about 13mm), and generate less heat. With a simple structure, mature manufacturing and low cost, EE13 is a good example of the flexibility of transformers electronics in low-power switching power supplies and special small inverter applications.
